If you’re in the area of Ray Flynn Marine Industrial Park this week, you’re not losing your mind. There’s no one driving that car! nuTonomy Inc. has been giving the green to start testing a self-driving car in South Boston this week. Southie is so high-tech.
Testing will be limited to daylight hours and good weather only. There will also be person in the car, just in case all hell breaks loose. If all goes well, the self-driving cars will travel to more difficult roads in the night and inclement weather.
While in Southie, these self-driving cars will also be programmed to double park, bang a U-y and place a spot saver out after a snowstorm.
