Officially, summer ends this weekend. But don't be sad, send it off in style with a free event with music for all at the L Street Bathhouse (Curley Recreation Center - M Street side). The fun begins at 5:30pm on Friday, September 21st, Southie's own music legends take the stage featuring Thomas Park, Risky Business Band, Lauren Hurley, B Capp and Meaghan Walsh. This event is brought to you by Mayor Thomas Menino, The BCYF Curley Community Center, and Music Ball Production. Don't forget to bring a beach chair!

Former Southie resident and Boys and Girls Club kid, David Lindsay Abaire is taking center stage at the Huntington Theatre this month. Lindsay - Abaire's play Good People about a down-on-her-luck single Southie mom Margie Walsh - is the featured play from September 14th through October 14th and tells the story of fate and the choices we make.

South Boston Grows is hosting their annual fundraiser on Friday, September 21st at 7pm at the Seapoint Restaurant (367 East Eighth Street). Helping the youth of South Boston understand the importance of community green space, farming and eating healthy, South Boston Grows is an amazing organization in our community. The evening will feature a local dinner made with fruits and veggies from the garden, music, and raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
