Be informed.  Get involved.  The first of a series of four hearing about Boston 2024 will take place at City Hall on Monday, May 18th 9:30 a.m. in the Iannella Chamber.  The focus of this meeting will be the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) 2020 Agenda regarding Boston’s 2024 bid, and how it correlates to what a Boston 2024 Olympics must accomplish. Invited participants include IOC member Angela Ruggerio; Boston 2024 Chief Operating Officer Erin Murphy; Christa Carone, Co-Chair, Marketing Advisory Committee and Acting Chief Marketing Officer; and a representative from the Mayor’s office.  The last Boston 2024 meeting was a long one so pack some snacks.

Meet and greet!  Author Dolley Carlson – a third generation Irish-American with Southie roots – has written her first novel, The Red Coat, about the contrasting lives of working-class Irish from South Boston and upper-class Brahmins from Beacon Hill set in the 1940’s and 1950’s.  Think Downton Abbey set in the heart of Boston.  Dolley will be in town for a book signing on Wednesday, May 20th from 5pm-7pm at Fresh as a Daisy Boutique – 29 Farragut Road.  Copies of the Red Coat will be available for purchase.  Wine and cheese will be served.
