Play ball! Local Southie fifth grader Brian Miller is looking for recruits to play in “Wifflethon” on Thursday, June 12th at 3pm in the South Boston Catholic Academy schoolyard.  As part of the Wifflethon – there will be wiffleball games and even wiffle haircuts* all to help raise funds for Ovarian Cancer Research.   Also on deck, a braiding station so you hair braided with a signature teal ribbon to show your support!  So come on, Southie – let’s rally and help Brian with his Wifflethon!  For a pledge sheet and permission slip, email [email protected]

Sip and shop! Celebrate summer at Ma Cherie Studios (315 E Street) – Southie’s premiere boudoir photography studio –  on Thursday, June 12th from 7pm-9pm.  Sip on champagne and do some shopping featuring Stella & Dot, Vienne Miliano and Date My Wardrobe.  Receive a special gift from M Cherie.   It’s a perfect girls night out!

Break ground!  On Friday, June 13th at 11am, Massport will celebrate the groundbreaking of the Thomas J. Butler Freight Corridor and Memorial Park at 900 East First Street.  There will be a speaking program followed by a light lunch.

    Kind of missed the fireworks Sunday night in report considering they were right at M Street beach. Maybe better reporting when the next firework display will go off.

    Market opens at noon for fresh local vegetables, fish and bread. Entertainment by Borelli Music from  3 – 5 pm.

    Hi there!  The fireworks were at a private event.  So they were a surprise to everyone!  We promise if we know of fireworks, we’ll let you know!
