Give Blood!  American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at the Curley Rec. Center on Wednesday, July 2nd from 2pm-7pm.  Donors of all blood types are encouraged to donate especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative.  Stop by and due a good deed.

Celebrate by creating art! The Urban Art Bar will open in its new home at 709 East Broadway this week!  Celebrate with a $10 painting class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.  We think you’ll be impressed with its new space!

Root for USA! Have you been whipped up into the frenzy that is the World Cup?  If your answer is yes, maybe you can sneak away from work and watch USA vs. Belgium on Tuesday at 4pm.  Mayor Marty Walsh invites you to join him along with the New England Revolution to a viewing party.   Since everyone had a ball (a soccer ball) at Thursdays viewing party, they’re gonna do it again!  USA!  USA!  The Revolution street team, the Battalion, will be on site with give-a-ways and fun activities for fans. Slyde, their Mascot and the Rev Girls will also be there firing up the crowd! Not really your bag?  Here are some other spots to watch today: https://caughtinsouthie.com/restaurants-bar/7-places-watch-game

Come about!  Old Ironsides will be making its annual turnaround on July, 4th at 12noon on Boston Harbor near Castle Island.  This will be the last time to see the USS Constitution as it will be in drydock for three years for renovations beginning in October.  We hear there will be a patriotic sing-along with a live band compliments of Sullivan’s. Who doesn’t love a patriotic sing-along?  Fort Independence will also be open for free tours in the afternoon and all weekend long.

Bike parade!  Celebrate Fourth of July with an old fashioned bike parade out to Castle Island to see the Constitution turnaround.  The Markarian Family of 6 Hardy Street is hosting this fun, family annual event.  Decorate your bike in patriotic flair (Don’t have any? No worries, the Markarian’s have plenty of decorations for you! ) and meet on Hardy Street to parade out to Castle Island. Sounds like fun!
