The November Project – Southie style!  The free fitness movement – The November Project will be meeting at Sullivan’s at Caste Island on Monday, August 4th at 6:30am.  Just show up for a really fun workout and see what everyone is talking about!

On your mark, get set, go!  Compete in a triathlon right in your own back yard Southie! On Sunday, August 10th at 8:15 a.m. hundreds of triathletes will take to Boston Harbor and William Day Boulevard to compete in Urban Epic Boston Triathlon. The swim takes place at Carson Beach and the bike and run are up and down William Day Boulevard and the Sugar Bowl path and ends back at Mother’s Rest at Carson Beach.   It’s a 1/2 mile swim, 9 mile bike and a four mile run!  Piece of cake!  There’s also an Après Epic party that includes food, beer garden, games, vendors, music and more all on Carson Beach.  What more could you ask for??? Swing for the fences!  The BCYF Sox Talk Baseball Clinics happens on Tuesday, August 5th at 10:30am at Moakley Park!  Youth ages 7-14 can work on their baseball skills and have the opportunity to win Red Sox tickets and meet Sox players and coaches. 

A Special Luncheon for Grandparents/Relatives Raising Children in South Boston.  The Catholic Charities Laboure Center (275 West Broadway) would like to invite you to a special lunch and program on Tuesday, August 5th featuring Deanna Forist, Director KINnections and Kids Net, Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children?and special guests Mrs. Mary Walsh and Ms Lorrie Higgins.  This event is supported by: Knights of Columbus, Pere Marquette Council, #217, Friends of Laboure and John J. National Night Out! Come meet Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissioner Evans at a special neighborhood event on Tuesday, August 5th at Moakley Park (next to the Ollie near the rotary).  There will be kids activities, give-aways, good and entertainment.  Awards will be given for Southie’s neighborhood watch groups too!

Mix it up! South Boston T.E.A.M. (Together Engaging Adolescents Through Mentoring) wants you to help make our community a little bit stronger! South Boston T.E.A.M. is a mentoring program that matches caring adults with teens from South Boston. Matches will meet once a week for at least one year. As part of the program, you will participate in such events like trips to Red Sox games, Six Flags, and Castle Island.  Want to learn more? Stop by their Happy Hour event on Wednesday, August 6th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant (425 W Broadway).
