Rumor has it that owners from Stephanie’s on Newbury Street and Steph’s on Tremont will be opening a new restaurant in Southie.  According to a reliable source, Stephanie’s will be opening a new restaurant at 11 West Broadway – the spot that once house the legendary Quiet Man. The cozy restaurants of Stephanie Sokolove offer a relaxed environment and classic comfort food and will be sure to be a neighborhood favorite.  Sokolove’s new restaurant will be in the same building as 50 condo units as well as Starbucks and Subway! ?

Free Fun Fridays! The Highland Street Foundation would like to pick up the tab on admission to Boston area attractions.  Isn’t that nice?  Enjoy free admission to places like the Isabella Stewart Garner Museum, The Children’s Museum,  MFA, the Franklin Park Zoo and many more.  This special promotion takes place each Friday from June 29th through August 31st.   The MFA is the featured spot this Friday, August 3rd. 

Mark your calendars – the hunt is on!  Scavenger in Southie takes place on Saturday, September 1st.  Local resident Victoria Montemayer and wife of a two-time veteran of the War in Afghanistan is organizing a an outdoor scavenger hunt and fundraiser for the Andrew Square VFW Post and South Boston Veterans.   This fun-filled event will focus on clues on Southie military history, local landmarks, and businesses.  There will be a variety of routes and hunts for teens, families and adults.  To learn more about the hunt visit, scavengerinsouthie.wordpress.com.

Who wants Tasty Burger?  If you would like to see Tasty Burger on L Street (at the home of the old Boathouse) you can show your support by emailing [email protected].  The new Tasty Burger is proposing a midnight closing for the take-out window and outdoor patio seating with a 10pm closing.  Tasty Burger will serve burgers and ice cream.  No alcohol will be sold at Tasty Burger.  Part of the Franklin Cafe family, Tasty Burger boasts some amazingly delicious burgers including such creations at the Spicy Jalapeno, Kahuna Burger with pineapple and a special Burger of the Day.   A burger will run you about $5 – not bad!
