Be informed. Get involved. There’s not one important community meeting this week but two! On Monday, July 24th from 6pm-8pm a meeting will be held to discuss the new 15.2 acre development at the old Edison power plant. The Boston Planning and Development Agency, along with local elected officials will be hosting the meeting at the Tynan School – 650 East Fourth Street. Join the MBTA and local elected officials for a public meeting to learn about the Red Line Test Track aka Track 61 and the $450 Million replacement of Red Line vehicles. The meeting will take place on Thursday, July 27th at 6:30pm at the Condon School – 200 D Street.

Help a kid out! Let’s hear it for 10 year old Ronan Manning who has organized a school supply drive to help those in need! “Every year too many kids go to school without the materials necessary to succeed. This summer I am organizing a school supply drive to help other kids in our community to have what they need for class this fall. Please help by donating new back packs, pencils, pens, erasers, notebooks, folders, and other school supplies. We will be collecting supplies on Wednesday July 26th from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at the South Boston Pop Warner field at Marine Park, 1880 Day Boulevard. If you’d like to skip the store and leave the shopping to us, you can donate here!
