Just some helpful suggestions of things happening around town

By the sea.  Pack a lunch and enjoy a concert at Maritime Park (Seaport District).  On Thursday, August 18th Ray Cavichio will be performing from 11:30-1:30pm.  We can’t think of a more lovely way to spend your lunch hour.  For more information call Conventures at 617-439-7700.

Are you crazy for dinosaurs?  Take an exciting journey into the world of dinosaurs at the Museum of Science.  Dinosaurs: Ancient Fossils, New Discoveries is in it’s final week on exhibit.  For tickets and information, visit mos.org. 

Know what would make restaurant week in Boston even better? Free wine!  Dinner is better with wine at Aquitaine, GasLight, Union Bar and Grille and Metropolis Cafe because they will be offering a 3 course dinner for only $33.11 and a free glass of wine.  You can’t beat that!

Picnic with the Adamses.  As in Abigail and John Adams.  The Boston Harbor Islands will host some family fun on Grape and Georges Island from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, August 20th.  Re-enactors portraying Abigail and John will read from their historical letters on Grape Island.  Then at Fort Warren on Georges Island enjoy some free classical music performed by Project Step’s Junior Chamber Ensemble.  For more information visit bostonharborislands.org. 

Do you know someone in need of a little help in the computer department?  The South Boston Pubic Library will be hosting a free laptop computer workshop on Friday, August 19 and Friday, August 26th at 11am.  The computer challenged will learn basics like how to browse the Internet and set up email accounts.  Welcome to the new millennium – geeesh…it’s about time!  Registration is required.  Call 617-268-0180 to register.
