Love the harbor? Give a chance to love it too! The Paraclete Academy invites you to a special night at Local 149 (149 P Street) on Tuesday, June 28th from 5pm to 7pm. Admission is $20 and includes complimentary cocktails and appetizers. All proceeds from this event help provide a week of learning for a student at the World Ocean School.

Ya’ll come now ya here! The South Boston Community Health Center is hosting their annual Hoedown and $10,000 drawing. On Wednesday, June 29th at 7 PM at the McCormack Bathhouse Pavilion right on Carson Beach. Chances to win the $10,000 are $100 and only 300 will be sold. Each chance admits two people to the event.? ?Expect great barbeque grub with all the fix’ins – open bar saloon with beer and wine, great music and dancing, lots of raffles for great items and one lucky cowpoke will win $10,000. Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services of the South Boston Community Health Center where we provide wonderful health care to nearly half of South Boston’s population. Be part of an study! Researchers at Boston College are seeking residents of South Boston for a study on the neighborhood. This includes a short interview which usually lasts 30 minutes to an hour, and for your time you will be compensated with a $15.00 gift card to the retailer of your choice (we recommend Target.) Happy Birthday America! Believe it or not it’s Fourth of July Weekend! Celebrate American Pops style! The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular (amazing title) begins at 8pm on WBZ Channel 4 with an all-star lineup. The Shield’s Michael Chiklis, Lionel Richie, and Keith Lockhart will take center stage along with the Boston Pops Orchestra. 10:30 the fireworks begin! We can’t wait for the 1812 Overture!
