Happy Birthday Henry Gailunas!  Henry is turning 7 on Monday, September 12th.  He is first grader at St. Peter Academy where he enjoys math and playing in the school yard with his friends.  Beginning his second year at a proud member of the Fighting Irish South Pop Warner F Team, he scored his first touch down at the opening game this past Friday night September 9th.  Happy Birthday!

If you forget my death, I die in vainSouth Boston Vietnam Memorial 30th Anniversary Rededication happens this weekend 9/17 and 9/18.  The South Boston Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial sits in the M Street Park in South Boston, Massachusetts. Everyone listed on the monument had come to the park sometime during their childhood. It is thought to be the first Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in the country.  Come show your respect and support:

  • Saturday, September, 17th  Coffee Under the Tent:  meet and greet invited guests at Medal of Honor (M St.) Park.  11:00AM-12:30PM
  • Welcome Reception:  Seaport World Trade Center, Bayview Ballroom, 6-9PM, $20 per person.  Special appearance by Tenor John McDermott.
  • Sunday, September, 18th Memorial Mass at St. Brigid’s Church 10:30AM, Re-dedication Ceremony Medal of Honor park 11:30 AM, Reception to follow at the site.

Cocktails and fashion! On Sunday, September 25th (2pm-4pm)  the Fifth Annual Laboure Fashion Show will take place at UMass Boston’s Campus Center Ballroom.  Fashions by Sara Campbell and Jos. A Banks Clothiers, Inc.  with be the focus as well as Catholic Charities Laboure Center –  a human service agency providing a variety of vital social services including early childhood programs, youth activities, community counseling, visiting nurse services and more. Proceeds from this fashion show will support all these programs.  Cocktails and fashion – we can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.
