Got hot sticky kids home for summer who are constantly saying “I’m sooooo bored!!”

Well, CIS has the answer for what to do this weekend with the kiddos and it’s fun for the whole family!

This Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm the Department of Conservation and Recreation is once again hosting the “Neponset Riverfest” at the DCR Neponset Park in Dorchester.

New parks and bike paths line the shores of the Neponset River, along with beautiful natural salt marshes and wetlands that support more than 200 species of birds, fish and other wildlife, all right in the City.

And there will be A TON to do! Try out a kayak or canoe on the Neponset River, courtesy of Paddle Boston, explore a tidepool with the New England Aquarium, have a WILD time with Zoo New England or attend a fishing clinic with the Mass Division of Fisheries & Wildlife.

There will be food trucks, live music and arts and crafts as well as the spray park for the kids to cool off. Bring the bikes and go for a cruise along the protected paths of the riverway.

All the information you need on parking (which is limited) and public transportation can be found here!

Additional sponsors of the Riverfest include: Neponset River Watershed Association, Department of Conservation and Recreation, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton, Cedar Grove Civic Association, Dorchester Reporter, DOT Smiles, Paddle Boston, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods.
