Why not?

Sunday is the new Saturday.  You’ve seen the lines, the crowds up and down Broadway, the local restaurants and pubs bustling with energy.  Sunday is normally a day of rest not here in Southie.  Sunday is fun day!   Here is a quick guide to the hot spots on where to keep the weekend rolling.

Fill your belly at Lincoln (425 West Broadway).  Southie’s new hip and happening hot spot offers a delicious brunch to form a good base for an afternoon of socializing.  With their four different types of Bloody Mary’s, to their breakfast pizza from the wood-fired oven, Lincoln is the perfect spot to clear out the cobwebs from the night before.

Be on the scene at Stats (77 Dorchester Street).   Make an appearance at Stats – a Sunday Funday must.  Belly up to the bar and keep the fun going.  Try a Shipyard’s Applehead on tap mix with a shot of Stoli Apple.  Still hungry, order up some wings or a burger.

Sing along.  Known for their Sunday Funday, The Playwright (658 East Broadway) offers live acoustic Country music.  Sit, listen, sing along and share some Santa Fe Egg Rolls or the Spinach and Artichoke Dip.  The Playwright has some specialty drinks to try like the Arnold Palmer or the Grape Jolly Rancher.

Keep the party train moving forward and end your Sunday at Southie’s Den of Cool.  Lucky’s Lounge at the corner of A and Congress (355 Congress Street) plays host to Sinatra Sundays.  Featuring live music with Lucky’s weekly tribute to ol’ blue eyes,  vocalist Adam Herbert and saxaphone player Mike Mossall will play all your Sinatra favorites while you sip on a martini or two.  Show starts at 8pm and a full menu is served until 11pm.   Try their award winning Kobe Sliders: three american kobe beef sliders topped with muenster cheese, sunny side up quail egg & applewood smoked bacon aioli. Winner of Boston Magazine’s Award for Best Sliders 2012 or their Southie Fried Chicken: extra crispy buttermilk marinated fried chicken, bacon braised greens, andouille pepper cream gravy, grits, cheddar jalapeno biscuit.  If you’re still standing, be brave and indulge in a
Double Down: gin, st. germain, muddled cucumber, mint, prosecco float.

So you might be a sluggish on Monday?  Big deal, right?  You’re young, you’re suppose to have fun!
