It was bitter-sweet when the news of local Chinese restaurant Pan Asia was closing and being transformed into the now wildly popular Loco Taqueria and Oyster Bar. Southie residents were excited about the new hot spot Loco but disappointed to see a local favorite close. Rumors began circulating that Pan Asia would find a new location and now the rumors are a reality.
Southie resident Eileen Murphy reported yesterday that Pan Asia is indeed opened for business in the spot where South Ocean once operated next to the Rite Aid parking lot on East Broadway. It will be strictly takeout and no – they will not be selling their legendary scorpion bowls!
