In the spirit of the Lawn on D, The Beach on M will be new seaside paradise complete with tiki bars, cabana rentals, and live music nightly.  M Street Beach has been a haven for hot bodies and fun in the sun for 20-somethings for the past five years, this summer things will be heating up a little more.   Guaranteed to be an instant hot spot, The Beach on M will feature a full service bar and food.  Rumor has it three different Southie restaurants are vying for the coveted license.

Other amenities will include :

  • Beach umbrella and cabana rentals
  • Banana boat and paddleboard rentals
  • Live music daily from 4pm-7pm featuring local musicians and performers
  • Volleyball court
  • Can jam
  • rotating exhibits of public art
  • Free wi-fi
  • Hubway station

Saturday, June 27th is the slated date for opening with the fun continuing through September.  Construction on The Beach on M will begin in early May.  Get your bathing suit ready, Southie! After the winter we’ve had, we’re ready for some fun in the sun!

P.S. April Fools!

Living my entire 40 years in Southie, I can say I know very few people who did NOT drink down the beach at some point. Since when is it strictly a "yuppy" thing???

I personally believe this is a fantastic idea to add culture to the neighborhood.
