The Flinstones

Yes, that was a life-size Flinstone-mobile coming down O Street on August 20th.  The prehistoric car was part of an event at the Boston Harbor Yacht Club - the 4th Annual Locker Hop - a social get-together where participants "hop" from locker* to locker and sample theme cocktails and appetizers.

The Hayes/Handrahan family recreated the iconic Bedrock clan for their locker's theme and were victorious in claiming the coveted "Best Locker" award. 

The Flinstone's car was built by master carpenter Mike Hourihan for Jane and Mark Handrahan especially for the Locker Hop. Hourihan even customized the vehicle with genuine Wooly Mammoth interior. 

Yabba Dabba Do!  Only the Jetson's car could possibly top that!

*definition of locker: (noun) a small room or kitchenette where members store summer necessities like dry towels, paper goods, food, and booze.
