I think you’re gonna need a bigger boat

Well, the 7ft long blue shark wasn’t really “caught” in Southie but ended up at the Columbia Yacht Club on Day Boulevard.  A very brave Ryan Shields from South Boston (soon to be 8 years old) poses with slightly scary beast.

The blue shark was caught by expert fisherman and Southie resident Ricky Coyne.

A perfect way to end Shark Week, right?

Killing sharks shouldn’t be something we boast about. Sharks are apex predators and an essential part of the marine ecosystem. People need to stop being ignorant and seeing sharks as a threat, and learn the importance of keeping these beautiful creatures alive.

Don’t listen to that Tree Hugging Wuss Rick, it was a great Catch! I’m sure there are plenty left in the Ocean!
