Looks the owner of Bell’s Market would like to build a five-story residential building at 236-256 Dorchester St. The building would include 7,835 square feet of ground-floor space for the market and maybe even a new diner or cafe.  Currently, Bell’s Market is a single-story building.

According to the Boston Herald, 27 of the 1 and 2 bedroom units would be sold at market rate, and five would be “affordable.” Also proposed are eight “modestly sized” roof decks and 23 parking spots.   The proposal has been submitted to the Boston Planning and Development Agency .

Wonder why?! Maybe because Boston is constantly named at the top of National “Least Affordable” lists day in and day out?
