Looks like Southie’s getting a new six story development to the corner of B and Dot. Ave.  Last week, the City of Boston’s Board of Appeal approved a six story, 114-unit residential building at 270 Dorchester Avenue.  The board approved the higher than normal building as part of the city’s new zoning in exchange for more affordable units and commercial space.

According to Universal Hub, the developer was granted the height in exchange for setting aside 20 units as “affordable,” and 40% of the commercial space will be rented to Ultimate Self Defense at an affordable rate.  The building will have 120 parking spaces in an automated underground garage.

So there you go! P.S. Can’t wait for the XYZ store to open!
