In the ever changing landscape of the South Boston business scene, here’ the latest and greatest scoop on what’s opening, closing and more!

Fitness:
The much anticipated BTone Fitness is opening any day now!  They are putting their finishes touches at the their studio located at 416 West Broadway.

The first fitness brand in the Seaport, Soul Cycle, the country’s premier full-body indoor cycling and lifestyle brand, will open on March 1, 2017. SoulCycle Seaport will feature a 57-bike studio, home to the signature SoulCycle workout. The 3,725 square foot studio will also house an expansive lifestyle boutique selling SoulCycle’s original performance and athleisure clothing collections. Additional rider amenities include full men’s and women’s locker rooms with four showers each and multiple bathrooms.

Fashion:
Covet has moved into a much more spacious spot – right next door on West Broadway.  We hear that the old Covet spot will be taken over by a vintage clothing shop – fingers crossed. That will make that block the ideal location for hunting and gathering with Dew Luxe,  Covet and now a new vintage clothing shop!

Food:
Coffee break!  Molly’s Farmhouse Coffee is now open in Andrew Square!  Enjoy their famous breakfast sandwiches, delicious coffee and ice cream!  Yum.  This is the sister location to Molly Moo’s  located at L and Third which is now open for the season!

It’s been confirmed the the good people behind Loco Taqueria is opening up a new place on Dorchester Street in the old Salsa’s Mexican Restaurant.  We hear from a reliable source it may be a sushi spot!   If it’s anything like Loco – it’s sure to be packed!

And we continue to wait for meatballs.  Never in our lives have we been craving meatballs more since it was announced that The Certified Meatball Company would be opening in the failed Windmill Restaurant spot  – in between Lincoln and Capo.  Initially it was report the people behind Wink & NodThe Tap Trailhouse, and Griddler’s Burgers + Dogs would open at 429 West Broadway sometime this summer.  Well, the holidays are here and no CMC.   Their last Facebook post was that construction was underway in July.  So now we wait with bated breath for the official announcement.  Stay tuned.
D Street in South Boston continues to grow and change at a rapid pace and there will soon be a new addition in 2017.  The Social Register will open at 401 D Street (in the bottom floor of Aloft Hotel) and will seat 200 and have a seasonal outdoor patio that will seat 30.

Nero Cafe – the lovely Italian cafe has been popping up all over the place.  Lucky for us, a new one will open at 416 West Broadway.  Featuring breakfast and lunch, Nero Cafe offers everything from muffins and scones, delicious salads and sandwiches and coffee!  For a full menu visit here! 

Wing lovers rejoice!  Wingstop will be opening at 416 West Broadway.  Featuring wings and tenders in every flavor you can imagine, if you love wings, you’ll love Wingstop!

The Seaport opening of Juice Press is the NYC-based company’s fifth location in the Boston Area. The new storefront joins the areas corporate offices and trendy fitness studios like Soul Cycle, making it convenient for active and on-the-go consumers to grab a healthy meal, satisfying snack, pre-workout pick-me-up or post-workout smoothie. Similar to Juice Press’s locations in Chestnut Hill and Back Bay, the Seaport store will be accessible to both on-the-go consumers, as well as those who want to sit and enjoy Juice Press products at their leisure. Beyond its extensive selection of cold-pressed juices and smoothies, the new location will offer a robust menu of organic dairy, gluten, and soy free hot soups, salads, plant-based desserts and snacks, as well as rich, satisfying acai superfood bowls. In addition, one of the Seaport location’s new features is that all juicing and bottling will be done on site – giving consumers the opportunity to see the juicing and bottling in progress.

Yoki Express is the first fast casual concept by the owners of Yoki in Medford. It focuses on unique offerings of sushi burritos, sushi bowls, and poke bowls with a choice of white or brown rice, a range of fresh vegetables and proteins, and a variety of sauces and garnishes. As part of its mission to be healthy and eco-friendly, Yoki Express offers only sushi grade seafood, HACCP compliant fish and shrimp, all natural chicken and meats, and organic fresh local vegetables as available.

At Twenty Two Liberty Tuscan Kitchen and Market hopes to open in the fall.  Harpoon Brewery is expanding to include a new outdoor patio which will be open from May to October.  And speaking of breweries, according to the Boston Globe, the wildly popular Lord Hobo is looking to expand to the Seaport District.  Hopsters, a Newton based brewpub will open at a 6,000 square foot spot for in Fort Point/Seaport District on Sleeper Street.

Other odds and ends:
The giant Dollar Store on West Broadway is under agreement and a proposal has been submitted for a new condo development with retail space.  The old Broadway Theater aka The Bug House across the street will be developed into condos and retail too! This block is undergoing the most dramatic transformation including the addition of Lincoln, Loco, and Capo in the past five years.

A new nail shop has opened its doors on East Broadway.  D’Luxe Nail Bar is officially opened and we hear its fabulous!

Ben & Jerry’s will be opening up in the Seaport District the weekend of April 8th.  This legendary ice cream shop will be located at 85 Seaport Blvd.
