Damn yuppies. The ones really destroying the neighborhood by renovating and bringing in upscale dining and entertainment establishments. Without them the Southie could go back to what it was. A drug den with shootings and rampant crime like this.

You forgot to mention how terrible it is that we’re driving property prices up for people who’s parents handed their home to them and have literally just sat there until their untouched, 40 year old, 3 bedroom condo was worth 1 mil and now they have a 4,000 SF home in one of the nicer burbs…..such a tragedy.

and then those same people’s friends from the old neighborhood who have stayed, complain about how we’re ruining the neighborhood even though it was their close friends who sold out!

At least almost all of these shootings are isolated, related incidents. Not saying they’re not a huge hazard or concern, but at least I know some one isn’t going to just walk up and shoot me.

Great point, NSNTTH….isolated and specific events. Not random shootings. You need to be looking for this trouble to find it.

Continue with the development and gentrification and naturally the unemployed, lazy, deadbeats will work their way out.

lived here for way to many years to put up with this stuff. So sad. They need to get rid of these people with guns. To many get to stay. Never had to look over my shoulder before now. ugh Boston Housing you should do the right thing.
