One Southie resident is less than pleased with the person who took his/her parking spot and wrote a note to prove it.  Mayor Marty Walsh declared a snow emergency on Thursday last week when the ban was lifted Friday at 8am it gave residents 48 hours to use space savers.  Then more snow came on Sunday into Monday with another snow emergency declared and another 48 hours added to the spot saver meter.  The mayor asked residents to be respectful of your neighbors and also stated he would not tolerate any threats in the form of notes.

The person who wrote this note did not take a threatening tone at all.  He/she just pointed out the obvious that the person who moved the space saver was selfish and not a good neighbor.  Come on people – for 48 hours – do you best and be respectful of the spot saver.   Be a good neighbor!

As for the neighbor that moved the spot saver – Shame!  Shame!  Shame!

How does anyone know who moved the space saver?

We don’t know. We can only assume.

I heard a bunch of kids out late last night moving parking savers and laughing about how pissed off the person is going to be at whoever ends up parking there. You can’t assume that people who park in shoveled out spots are jerks… It’s just as likely that some punk kids moved it to cause trouble. It happened to me last year. Luckily no slashed tires, just a stern warning.

C’mon–even if there is no space saver does a reasonable person think it’s OK to park in a spot that was obviously shoveled out by someone else? I can’t see the condition of the spot from this picture but if it was clean to the ground you should keep moving–it’s not your’s if you didn’t shovel it out. Assume they just forgot or someone else moved it. The odds they shoveled it out and just left it there for someone else to use is pretty slim.

Whether there was a space saver there or not someone obviously spent time shoveling that spot out, you should assume they will be returning and respect the 48 hour rule. I have absolutely zero sympathy for anything that happens to your car when you do this, consider yourself lucky all you got was a note.

No one told you shovel your car out. Leave it buried like some people do. I lived in southie for 49 years and respected the spot saver , but come on the old southie entitlement thinking I shoveled it I own it. You are the first person I met named city last name Boston. I see people put savers out when all they did was brush off their car and pull out. What a joke
