There will be no parking on Day Boulevard from I Street to Farragut Road on Friday, April 7th beginning at 10pm through Saturday, April 8th at noon.

On Saturday, April 8,  the DCR will close William J. Day Blvd. from Kosciousko Circle to Farragut Road to accommodate the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.  All lanes will be used for the race.  Traffic will be detoured to adjacent roadways: East Broadway and Shore Road will serve as a route to and from Castle Island.  Parking will also be prohibited along Day Boulevard.  The road will be closed from 8am-12pm.

There will be temporary overnight parking for residents with a valid City of Boston South Boston sticker at the angled parking spots located between Shore Road and the Castle Island Parking lot on Friday, April 7th.  This temporary parking area will be staffed and vehicles will be checked for resident stickers.

I was driving down Old Colony Avenue yesterday (Thursday 4/6). The stretch opposite the Old Harbor project from O”Callaghan Way to just before the foot bridge had seven (7) tow trucks. They were hooking cars up and down the street. A state trooper was sitting there.
    Ruthless!

It’s called street cleaning on DCR roadways. From April- November. It’s clearly posted on signs. And actually they put paper fliers on all vehicles parked on affected roadways a couple of days prior to the street cleaning.
