Unless you’re safely ensconced under a rock somewhere far far away, you’ve seen and read about the devastation in Houston courtesy of Hurricane Harvey and Mother Nature.
As we get ready to send the kiddos back to school and put away the summer clothes for the season, perhaps we can all find a few items to donate to the relief efforts for the people of Houston.
Mayor Marty Walsh is encouraging us all to lend a hand to his counterpart Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston with donations of diapers, non-perishable foods, blankets, toiletries, new clothing and baby formula. All BCYF sites (Curley Rec. Center/Condon School) will collect donations and items can also be dropped off at City Hall, 1010 Mass Ave, the Bolling Building and Court Street. The closest one for Southie residents is the Condon Community Center.
Let’s show Houston some true South Boston love!
