Southie has it all!  Luxury condos, the best restaurants, gorgeous beaches and now we may have a helipad.  Thank goodness!  How many times have you thought to yourself, “If only Southie had a helipad, I would have a place to land my helicopter!”

To bring you up to speed, GE is moving to South Boston in the Fort Point Neighborhood.  One of the perks promised to the Fortune 500 company to lure them from Connecticut to Boston was a helipad.  According to an article in the Boston Business Journal, state officials say they could be a temporary helipad in Boston by September.  The helipad would be public so everyone with a helicopter could access it!  Phew!

No word, yet where this helipad would be but we’d have to guess it’s gonna be somewhere close tot he new GE headquarters.

Southie had a helipad before the convention center was built. It was on C street just down street from Fargo st. I gassed up the helicopters when I worked at Boston Frieght.
