Looks like the outdoor bar at the Intercontinental Hotel will be closing its doors. According to the Boston Globe, State environmental regulators ordered the Five-10 Waterfront Bar at the hotel to close because it doesn’t comply with the rules in relation to use of public space along Boston Harbor.
Evidently the hotel is suppose to maintain 60 feet of public open space along the waterfront. The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection ordered the bar closed within 30 days and it also wants any signs removed that state public access to the lawn is not allowed.
UPDATE: Technically the bar does not have to close it just needs to recede from edge of water to allow access to public ramps and lawns.
