Southie dog owners rejoice! Massport just announced the grand opening of a new dog park on East First Street (Between M and O). This top of the line quarter acre park is complete with park benches, pet fountain, doggie exercise equipment surrounded by beautiful landscaped grounds.
The official opening will take place on Thursday, October 27th at 10:30am. Bring your pooch!

I thought this park was going to be a public space for the community, the rendering makes it look like the entire stretch of land is a dog park, is that right? What happened to “walking , running , bike paths” ?
This is amazing!!! Finally. This has been desperately needed in this neighborhood for a long long time. I hope this gets all the off leash dogs out of M Street Park in a safe gated spot.
