On Monday, the man accused of the double homicide that happened in May at a luxury condo in South Boston appeared in court today and entered a plea of not guilty.  The court ordered him held without bail.

Bampumim Teixeira, 30, pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the deaths of Lina Bolaños, 38, and Richard Field, 49.  After sustaining injuries from a gun shot wound by Boston Police during the incident, Teixeira, was arraigned in his hospital bed in May.

Teixeira is due back in court on Sept. 12.

    If this is true, and he’s the guy (and it sure sounds like it), he’s a cold-blooded killer who deserves to pay the ultimate penalty. These two doctors didn’t deserve or need to die, but he certainly does. But he e was well-acquainted with the “slap on the wrist” culture in our justice system and doubtless knew there is no death penalty for murder here. This whole episode begs another question: how the heck did this violent loser with no skills, education or prospects, get into this country? And how did he stay with two bank robbery convictions?? And given the (undeserved) gift of US citizenship, and an unearned reprieve from deportation, this is how he repays our country’s charity and goodness. The whole sorry situation is symptomatic of deep flaws in our justice and immigration systems. Jack E4thSt
