A $5 million settlement has been made with the family of the 7 year -old boy who drowned at the Curley Rec. Center and the City of Boston.
Back in July of 2016, Kyzr Willis drowned while attending a drop-in day camp run by Boston Centers for Youth & Families. His family filed a wrongful death suit last year with the federal court alleging that city officials and camp supervisors failed to watch him or provide him with a life jacket.
Here lies the result of incompetence and mismanagement. The City Counselors are currently holding up the BI-Lahey merger after top state health care officials already gave it the thumbs up.
Instead of sticking your useless noses into things beyond your scope, how about you ensure we don’t have to make another multi-million dollar payment to a family due to a public programs’ massive failure?

You should take down this article. Or revise it, at least. Let the family mourn and live in peace. The internet doesn’t need to know how much was settled on.

I disagree. It is taxpayer money and the City has a responsibility to be transparent about it. I don’t think publishing the amount is at odds with allowing the family to mourn in peace. Just imagine if financial settlements in these matters were not ever made public what a slippery slope that would be. I think your post is well intentioned though. God bless him and his family.
