Its official!  Amazon signed a lease for a building in the Seaport District for 2000 employees, right? Well, here’s a sneak peek of what the new luxury building might look like.

Last month, WS Development released images of the building it would construct for the online retailer – featuring 15 floors of office space above a two-story retail on a public walkway.  Amazon has negotiated a lease and plans on moving in in 2021. Amazon has been offered $5 million in tax breaks from the City of Boston as an incentive.

So this not correct. They haven’t choose the site nor have been to Boston to look at potential locations.

This is not the location for the headquarters. This is separate from the headquarters.

The tax breaks are contingent on Amazon actually bringing 2000 jobs. No lease has been signed. These are WS’s latest renderings.

Good luck to the AMazon employees if they bring 2000 jobs her.. the T can not handle the people who commute here now. I have taken the T every workday for years and it has only gotten worse. The redline has totally deteriorated. I missed a dental appt yesterday going from South staition to Qincy Center. thee is always a switcihing problem, a signal problem. etc etc etc. It truly is a third world transportaition system now.. and the busses from South Boston.. it should n’t take me 45 minutes to go from South Bostosn to Downtown what.. 2 miles??
