Making time for an exercise routine isn’t always easy—especially with a baby in tow. Throw in the blistering cold and icy sidewalks that render jogging strollers useless, and well, it’s pretty much impossible. So what’s a mom to do? Four words: Mommy and Me Yoga.

“Learning how to balance work, children, and family can be a lot, and most times, the first thing to go for women is personal practice time,” says Radiant Yoga founder and owner Chanel Luck. So, after seeing a huge response to Radiant Yoga’s pre-natal offerings, Luck knew it was time to give moms a place to come after their babies were born. “It was such a natural fit, we are so blessed to be able to support women and their families on the path of motherhood,” says Luck.

Led by instructor and “baby whisperer” Karen Caiazzo, Mommy & Me classes focus on strengthening muscles and bonds—and we’re not just talking the bond between mother and child. “Moms enjoy coming into a community of other women and babies in their neighborhood,” says Luck. “They share tips on which park is accessible, which cafes are baby/nursing friendly, and how to handle a colicky baby. The classes themselves build community.”

Intrigued? Join Caiazzo on Thursdays: October 13, 20 & 27 and November 3 & 10 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.  This 5 week series is especially designed for Postnatal mommies. You can attend on your own or bring your babe with you! We emphasize strengthening the body after labor, and tailor stretches specifically for the new physical challenges of motherhood. Appropriate for all levels of yoga experience, this is a chance to connect with your little one while still doing something nurturing for yourself.

Email the studio at [email protected] with any questions. Please inquire with the studio if your little one is a crawler.  It is designed for new Mommies and pre-crawling babies but Daddies welcomed too!

And if your baby hasn’t made his or her grand debut just yet, check out Radiant Yoga’s pre-natal yoga classes Monday nights at 6:15PM.
