It’s Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11th!   Originally known as Armistice Day to honor the living veterans of World War 1, Veterans Day has transformed into a holiday that celebrates all those who served their country.  Make sure to thank a veteran! 

The VFW Post 561 – Thomas J. Fitzgerald Post (715 East Fourth Street) – will celebrate Veteran’s Day on Tuesday at 9 a.m with a parade march to St. Brigid’s Chapel, and a memorial Mass followed by a brunch at Cushing Hall (lower church).
What’s opened/closed:

  • Municipal Offices: Closed (including City Hall, public schools, libraries and community centers)
  • ?Parking Meters: FREE, time limit NOT in effect. All other parking rules remain in effect. ?
  • Street Cleaning: Delayed by a day.
  • Trash/Recycling: Collections one day late for remainder of week.
  • ?MBTA: Running on a regular weekday schedule. 
  • Liquor stores: Open
  • Banks: Closed

    Maybe some of our new residents will someday figure out how to follow directions, city rules and laws concerning our neighborhood for all 12 months of the year.
