Space saving in Southie has gone international.  Who knew that the good people of the the UK would find our parking habits so interesting.  But low and behold, The Daily Mail.com is reporting on a little town in Boston where “motorists battle the elements – and each other – to find a space for their cars during the storm.  Guess who gets a shout out in this article?  Why none other than Caught in Southie!  We apparently are the experts on the “Wild-West area of winter parking.”  It also displays a whole gallery of space savers and mean notes as a result of stealing a spot.

Then the article goes on to morph South Boston with none other than our bizarro twin town of the South End.  The South End is banning spot saving this winter -Ouch! tough winter to implement that one!  It references the Boston Globe article by Billy Baker and quote the great anti-space saver crusader Stephen Fox who’s leading the crusade against the practice.

Different neighborhood.  Very different rules.

Some of the Newbies that live here think they live in the South End. They call it Broadway Street and they think that Boston Harbor is a lake.
