And just like that, 2015 is almost over. New Year’s Eve is the biggest party night of the year. But why not skip the frenzy downtown, the struggle for a cab and the fight for a drink and stay local? Here are some of our favorite picks for a very Southie New Year’s Eve.
The Playwright

The Lincoln Tavern & Restaurant
No cover. No ticket. Just their famous chef specials and DJ LayZBoy from 9pm-2am. They’ll be serving dinner with a reservation from 5-10pm!
Lucky’s Lounge
Take it back to the roaring ’20s with a Gatsby-themed Prohibition Ball at Lucky’s Lounge in Fort Point. For $43, you’ll get admission into the ball from 9:30-2AM, one drink ticket, and a champagne toast at midnight. Check it out!
South Boston Candlepin
South Boston Candlepin (543 East Broadway)is hosting a New Year’s party that’s going to be the balls – bowling balls that is! For just $40 bucks you can bowl all night, enjoy pizza and a cash bar featuring a wide range of beer and wine in the $3.25 to $4.50 range.
