We casually mentioned Friendsgiving in our newsletter last week and OMG we have gotten a million questions since.  We didn’t know so many people would want to know more about Friendsgiving but since we’re all about giving the people what they want, here are the basics!

What exactly is Friendsgiving?
Simply put it’s Thanksgiving but with your friends.

Is there turkey?
If someone wants to cook one, sure.  There are no hard and fast rules for Friendsgiving.

Well that was vague, what do we eat?
Eat whatever you want, you’re a grown-ass person.  You can totally go with a traditional Thanksgiving spread, host makes the turkey and everyone potlucks sides.  Just check-in with everyone because you don’t want ten versions of mashed potatoes.  Scratch that, you totally want ten versions of mashed potatoes.

So when is it?
Remember when I said there were no rules?  Friendsgiving can be whenever you want it.  Most people go with the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, but you do you.

Anything else we should know?
Make sure you have enough booze, ice, plates, and silverware, and wear elastic waist pants, and maybe a Snuggie.

Are you hosting a Friendsgiving gathering?  We’d love to see how you celebrate, so tag your pics with #SouthieFriendsgiving!  And stay tuned because next week we’ll have some Friendsgiving ideas for you!
