Holy mackerel!…..well, striped bass.
A new summer youth fishing program casted off on Saturday morning at the Curley Recreation Center K Street beach. One lucky fisherman – Dominic – caught a 32 inch, 20 pound striped bass!
“When it came out to the water, it was amazing! Such a great feeling for a kid! He took it home slung over his shoulder for his mom to cook for dinner,” said Barbara Kelly, BCYF worker.
Needless to say, Dominic was one proud kid!
The summer fishing program takes place each Saturday through August (weather permitting). All boys and girls ages 8 and up are invited to fish! Fishing rods, and bait will be provided.
