Medicine Wheel Productions will mark and honor World Aids Day with special event at Fort Independence, Castle Island.  The event will begin with a lantern procession at 11pm on Sunday, November 30th, around Pleasure Bay and into the fort.   Each hour of the day will be marked with prayerful and artistic offerings during the 24 hours of December 1st.

From Medicine Wheel:
The Medicine Wheel Vigil is true public art; the community is involved as participants and co-creators.  We invite artists, spiritual leaders, and practitioners from of all disciplines and traditions  to make prayerful artistic processional  offerings during the vigil to mark the hours of the day.  We would like to mark  each hour with a call to awareness with, music, poetry, song, dance prayer and ritual. During these processionals we will carry offerings left from the past 22 Medicine Wheels and ritually burn them in a fire pit in the center of this year’s wheel, sending our hopes, dreams, prayers, remembrances from Earth to Heaven.  This year’s vigil is going to be a wonderful, magical event. The installation will be a winter camp at Historic Fort Independence in South Boston. This year’s wheel opens with a group of Coptic Deacons, chanting Midnight Prayer as we make our way in a candlelight procession into the fort.  Our Creative Partners from Kairos Dance will follow leading us into the dreamtime.  Greet  the dawn with Buddhist monks chanting…….
