National Night Out

Come meet Mayor Marty Walsh and Police Commissoner Evans at a special neighborhood event on Tuesday, August 5th at Moakley Park (next to the Ollie near the rotary).  There will be kids activities, give-aways, good and entertainment.  Awards will be givien for Southie's neighborhood watch groups too! 

Wednesday, August 6th

Mix it up! South Boston T.E.A.M. (Together Engaging Adolescents Through Mentoring) wants you to help make our community a little bit stronger! South Boston T.E.A.M. is a mentoring program that matches caring adults with teens from South Boston. Matches will meet once a week for at least one year. As part of the program, you will participate in such events like trips to Red Sox games, Six Flags, and Castle Island. 

Want to learn more? Stop by their Happy Hour event on Wednesday, August 6th from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant (425 W Broadway). Enjoy free drinks, appetizers and raffle prizes.

The South Boston Neighborhood House is inviting you to some good old fashioned fun on the beach!  On Tuesday, August 12th from 6pm-8pm stop by Carson Beach for an night of music, dancing, refreshments and books!  All kids will get a t-shirt and a book to take home. 

This family event is sponsored by the DCR and Save the Harbor Save the Bay.

The Taste of Seaport will be back again for it's third year!  Enjoy a lunchtime sampling of some of South Boston's best waterfront restaurants on Wednesday, August 13th from 12pm-1:30pm.  This delicious event happens at South Boston Maritime Park at the corner of D and Congress Street.   There will also be live music performed by local artists.

Movie Night! Mayor Marty Walsh and the City of Boston is hosting a family movie night on Monday, August 18th at 8pm.  The featured film of the night is one of my personal favorites - Rudy.  Popcorn will be provided by AMC Lowes Movie Theatre.
