The Lawn on D is hosting Sam Adams Octoberfest and a good old fashioned stein hoisting competition! Think you have what it takes to be America’s Stein Hoister of the Year? Sam Adams’ National Stein Hoisting Competition returns for another season as they search high and low for two national champions (male and female) to send to the 2017 Oktoberfest celebration in Munich, Germany. Do you love suspense, excitement and an occasional push and shove? Well, Come participate in musical mayhem in Faneuil Hall Marketplace’s second annual Mega Musical Chairs on Thursday, September 8th! This free, one-of-a-kind event will commence at 6:00pm, with live musical accompaniment by Cocek Brass Band! Competition will be fierce. Only one brave competitor will be named Boston’s king or queen of chairs, although eliminations rounds and a “Champions’ Circle” will offer plenty of opportunities to win prizes from Faneuil Hall Marketplace merchants. Register online and check in by 5:45pm to guarantee your spot. Any remaining spots will be offered to walk-ups after 5:45pm. The games begin at 6:00pm, with a winner declared by 7:30pm! **Must be 18 years or older to participate*

Dance:
Dance the night away with local legend Dru Errico and help raise some money for the Rodman Ride for Kids to benefit The South Boston Neighborhood House! This event takes place on Saturday, September 10th from 7pm-12pm at the Ollie – 136 H Street. Tickets are $20 at the door!

Support:
Speaking of good old fashioned fun,this might be our favorite fundraiser yet! It’s a Back-2-School BBQ for the South Boston Boys & Girls Club on Friday, September 9th at 6pm! This fun-filled event will include food, raffles, cash bar, a mechanical bull, giant Jenga, cornhole and The Bachelor’s” DJ Kupah James spinning the tunes! Tickets are $25 and the fun takes place at Coppersmith!

Pray:
The South Boston/Seaport Catholic Collaborative has organized two special events this weekend. First, a breakfast and blessing for children and families to celebrate the return to school at St. Peter’s Church – 75 Flaherty Way on September 10th at 9am. On Sunday, September 11th there will be a candlelight procession following the 7pm Mass at Our Lady of Good Voyage Chapel (65 Northern Ave.) to the Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Memorial to commemorate the 15th anniversary 9/11.
