Eat:
Brunch Battle at District Hall! Participate in some good old fashioned eating and drinking as local brunch hot spots duke it out for the coveted title of Brunch Champion on Saturday, October 8th at 12noon!  Lulu’s, The Living Room, The Tap Trailhouse, Hops Test Kitchen & Raw Bar, Tico, and Row 34 will be sampling some of their best brunch items and you get to eat them and then vote for your favorite! Proceeds from this battle will benefit Community Servings, a local nonprofit that provides meals to individuals & families who are homebound with an acute life-threatening illness. So not only is is delicious but it’s good for our community too! Brunch Battle is sponsored by the boozy brunch buddies at Tito’s Handmade Vodka & La Marca Prosecco. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here! Use the code “Southie” and enjoy a discounted rate!

Drink:
We’ll drink to that! Raise your glass to the Ellie Fund at Lincoln Tavern, Loco Taqueria and Coppersmith.  For the entire month of October, be on the lookout for specialty pink cocktails and order one (or two) up!  $2 from each one sold will go directly to the Ellie Fund.  Lincoln is featuring the  “TaTa Tasty” :O  Vodka, grapefruit, elderflower, basil, lime for $10  and $2 for every cocktail sold will be donated to the Ellie Fund!

Shop:
It’s denim season! Whether it’s skinnies, flares, high waisted or boyfriend, Ku De Ta’s (663 East Broadway) denim bar is loaded with the best selection from Joe’s Jeans, True Religion, Miss Me, Red Engine, Dittos, Etienne and more.  Prices start at $88 for some styles up to $220.

Workout:
East Side Yoga and Fitness is offering a special Columbus Day class.  Enjoy a Strength and Conditioning class at 10am on Monday with Lindsey Potter.

Reminisce:
Do you miss the Rainbow Dragon?  It’s been a few years since Loco took over their old location at F and Broadway!  Well, some Southie neighbors have organized a special Rainbow Dragon Reunion on Sunday, October 9th at Murphy’s Law from 4pm to 11pm featuring Chinese food from Pan Asia (Rainbow Dragon).  $10 for tickets which you can purchase at Pan Asia (next to the Beer Garden/Rite Aid) ask for Eva.  or just show up at Murphy’s with your sawbuck!

Brunch:
It’s a long weekend and why not keep the fun going with brunch on Monday!  These Southie establishments will open their doors for brunch featuring specialty cocktails and menu items.  Feast on Fruity Pebble Pancakes (stack of pancakes, cereal milk anglaise) and Smoked Prime Rib Hash (sautéed red and yellow bell peppers, red onions, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce) at Lincoln Tavern Loco will open at 10am and serving up plenty of options to get your Monday Funday started, with options including Enchiladas (duck carnitas, smoked tomatoa suace, sunny side up duck egg, cotija), Breakfast Tacos (carnita, black beans, pico de gallo, monterey jack, warm tortillas) and Fried Egg BLT Torta (two fried eggs, smoked bacon, romaine lettuce, tomato, mojo sauce). Yum!

Watch:
It’s a sports lovers dream this Sunday – the Red Sox playoffs and the return of Tom Brady!  The Patriots face the Cleveland Browns at 1pm and the the Red Sox play Cleveland at 4:08pm.  It’s all about beating Cleveland Sunday!  Here are our picks for where to watch the game in Southie!

Listen:

Family Fun Picks:
Come and celebrate the season with the Friends of the South Boston Branch Library as they present their Twelfth Annual Fall Fair, featuring pumpkin-decorating (limit: one pumpkin per child), face painting, and a magic show!  This event takes place on Saturday, October 8th 11am to 2pm!
