Eat:
Just in time for the weekend, The Punk & Poet (formerly The Playwright) will be opening its doors on Thursday – just in time for the weekend!  Expect a complete 180 degrees from The Playwright – with a bright and edgy interior -with plaid fabric covered booths and eclectic artwork.   The exterior is now a bright red – which we’re loving!  The menu will feature small shareable plates like buffalo cauliflower, lettuce wraps and quesadillas.  Plus larger meals like cast iron flank steak, stuffed meatball casserole and broiled scrod!  There are also salads, burgers and sandwiches too!  Punk & Poet Sangria, The Clash – a concoction of tequila, St. Germain, Aperol, house simple syrup, lemon and Angostura Bitters – and Pink Poet – pink gin, pink grapefruit, elderflower and Peychauds bitters – are just a few of their featured cocktails!

Drink:

Celebrate:
Mix and mingle! It’s the Second Annual  Back-2-School BBQ for the South Boston Boys & Girls Club on Friday, September 8th at 5pm! This fun-filled event will include food, raffles, cash bar, games music and more! This year’s BBQ will celebrate Chuck Dhimitri’s 60th Birthday – who grew up, work for and still loves the South Boston Boys & Girls Club! Tickets are $25 and the fun takes place at Coppersmith! Honor:
It’s the 35 Annual Rededication of the South Boston Vietnam Memorial.  The events begins at 10:30am with a Mass at 10:30am followed by the rededication ceremony at Medal of Honor of Honor Park on Sunday, September 10th.  “If you forget my death, then I died in vain.”

Play:
Head out for a night of fun on Friday, September 8th from 7-11 (doors open at 630).  Play LCR – the action packed dice game to benefit Help for Harvey!   First round of LCR starts at 7.  Guaranteed 3 rounds of LCR. Cash Prize for Championship round. 50/50 . Raffles. Music. Cash bar. Parking. $20 at the door (which includes entry into LCR tournament) Every cent donated will go straight to helping those in need in Texas. Listen:
Bell Biv DeVoe will playing a free concert at City Hall Plaza on Saturday, September 9th!  Mayor Marty Walsh and Senator Linda Dorcena Forry announced on Sunday a free unity concert will take place with headliner Bell Biv DeVoe.   People are being asked to donate school supplies for the students of Houston after the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.  Donations can be made at City Hall Plaza!  Bust out your overalls and rope chain!

Watch:
