The World Class Museum on our Boston Harbor Waterfront and an Exhibition at the Distillery that focuses on keeping the Boston Harbor Clean.
The Institute of Contemporary Art Boston is great place year round to visit, but in the summer it is spectacular with its outdoor sitting/viewing space looking out on the Boston Harbor. In the summer the ICA has a free outdoor music series with the harbor as the backdrop called the Harborwalk Sounds. It is free performances by Berklee College of Music students, alumni, and faculty and features all genres of music such as jazz, Latin and more!

There are several ICA exhibitions on view that are fantastic. My favorite is “The Record: Contemporary Art and Vinyl ” which runs until September 5th. It features art work made with and/or inspired by record albums. The show has work by David Byrne (yes that David of Talking Heads fame), Carrie May Weems and Jasper Johns to name a few. The exhibition even has three DJ Nights in August: 5, 12, & 26, 7:30-11 pm $10 Members/Students; $15 general admission

Remember Thursday nights after 5pm are free to visit the ICA and they also have a great cafe to get a bite to eat and it serves wine and beer.

The Distillery Gallery 516 East Second Street, Boston MA 02127
Opening on July 14th and running until August 14th is “Boston Don’t Dump” an environmental art project by Jane Ingram Allen. Jane was an artist in residency for two weeks at the Distillery in June. During her residency “she created a new series of handmade paper artworks that focus on the environmental issues of clean water and urban runoff and pollution of Boston’s waterways.” Although Jane is originally from the US she has been living and working in Taiwan since 2004.
