South Boston’s newest member of our restaurant community is Stats Bar and Grille  - a sleek but cozy restaurant that opened its doors on Dorchester Street Wednesday July 22nd and the rumor is has been packed with young and beautiful Southie residents ever since.  Stats is the sister restaurant to the thriving J.A. Stats on Broad Street downtown and looks to be a frequented stop in the Southie social scene.

The menu consists of an extensive appetizer and burger selection with such standouts as mini cheeseburger sliders, spicy buffalo calamari, and oven-baked spinach and artichoke dip. The menu also features; salads, sandwiches, pizza and entrees such as steak tips, braised short ribs and mac and cheese.  The prices are reasonable and range from $8-$16. Although the menu sounds awfully similar to many other local eateries, Stats should stand out due to the 21 television screens, and it’s lively atmosphere.   Hopefully it will stick around longer than South and Grille 77.  It seems as though that end of Dorchester Street is the Bermuda Triangle of failed restaurants in Southie.  Does anyone remember the Zydeco Grille?
