Resolutions – NO Goals – Yes
by Brittany Regan
Each year, how many of us out there have made resolutions that we have not kept? If you are like me, these resolutions come and go each year and as the year goes on I tend to push that so called resolution further off. For 2010, I was talking about resolutions with my dad, Tom Regan of Regan’s Motivated Fitness, and he told me to forget about resolutions and focus more on a fitness goal. Instead of the common resolution of - “I will get into shape in the new year”- my dad is challenging the members of his gym (and of course his children) to pick a goal and make a plan to attain these goals.
Members of his gym who sign up for one of the many fitness goals within Massachusetts (see below for some examples) are given a training plan to attain these goals as well they are set up with other members who are interested in pursuing the same type goal. Those on the training plans are also coached along the way by my dad to ensure that they are given as much help as they need to keep on track to get these goals accomplished. Working in groups and having a team to motivate you along is really a great way to keep on track! So this year grab some friends and give a fitness goal a shot. If you do not know where or how to get started below I listed some of the fitness goals my dad is suggesting to his members and if you are looking for some help to get a kick start this year check out his gym:
